Centenary United Methodist Church

Body

Centenary UMC has been a training and coaching client of Embrace Communities since January 2022. CUMC is one of six downtown churches, partnering in the Downtown Community Ministry, providing a noontime meal on a different day of the week. They serve between 180 and 250 people every week.

Through a church-wide discernment process, CUMC discovered their gift in the areas of food and education.

Upon completion of their training in May of 2022, CUMC's team began hosting weekly listening conversations with their walk in guests.  They hope to begin listening conversations with RPS students and families in the fall of 2022.  Stay tuned to learn what gifts, talents, hopes and dreams they discover through this exciting journey!

2023 Update:

Centenary United Methodist church reopened their hot meals program and added an extra hour of hospitality allowing those experiencing food insecurity in downtown Richmond to cultivate a sense of community with their peers as they enjoy the companionship of the Centenary volunteers.
